Scott called

Scott called this morning. Not as bright and early as the other morning. He said that he is doing good. He is really bored though. Because the rest of his group is not there yet, all day yesterday he sat on his bed and watched movies. I'm glad he did that cause some long 12 hour shifts are coming and hes not going to be able to just kick back. He said its pretty quiet out there. There was a mortar the hit the FOB the other day. It hit a junk yard. No where close to anyone or anything but garbage. Scott was talking to some one and they said that they haven't seen a mortar since August. That's really good. The one in August was like this one. Not close to anything or anyone. They are telling him that there is zero to No activity at all out there. He found a place with cheap movies. He was very thankful for that. He also said that they are now authorized to wear a new boot. They say that its like wearing a regular shoe. He cant wait to get those. I set up a new email for him. He is having a hard time with his army account. His new email is: armydaddy78@hotmail.com This one will be easier for him to check. They finally got some things in their office up and running to include the phone. Now we can hear from him every couple days. Well I think that that's all the news that I have for now. Take care all.

He made it to Taji

Hello everyone. Well Scott made it to Taji, Iraq ok. He said that they are sleeping in a building. That made me feel better cause he was told that they would be sleeping in tents for like 2 months. He wont be staying in that building the whole time. They are waiting for the unit that's there to leave. I do have an address but Scott is not sure that its right. Hes going to try to find out from someone who is there what it is. He is kinda bummed right now cause they don't have those big soft blankets at the PX. He likes to get those when he gets there and sleep with instead of his sleeping bag. So because of the time difference Scott sometimes doesn't know what day it is or what time. This morning I got a call bright and early at 3am. It scared the crap out of me and which ever cat was sleeping with me. We all jumped! Scott said that the building that he will be working in is not on the outskirts of the FOB. Its more towards the middle and there are other buildings around it too. He also said that the National Guard is going to be handling the radar that they have. That's good news cause then he doesn't have to leave the office as much. Well this first week has gone by pretty fast for me and Scott said it has for him too. I just hope the rest of it goes this fast.

I just wanted to let everyone know that my long trip to Iowa went just fine. It took me about 15 hours. I took a wrong road somewhere so it took me longer. I was still going in the right direction but it wasn't the road that I wanted. Out of my entire 15 hour drive the last minute was the most dangerous. My aunts driveway is slicker the snot. I didn't slide but the whole thing is iced over. I didn't hit rain or snow the whole drive. Well I think that's it for now. If everyone would email me a quick, Hi, to my other email that would be great. Just so I have your regular email so when I know for sure that Scott address is right I can send it to everyone. I don't want to post it for everyone I don't know to read. hotchicjojo@hotmail.com Thanks lots

E-6 Now!

So just to let everyone know, Scott made it to Kuwait. He said that he would be calling just as soon as he could. He was pretty excited to be getting pinned his E-6 before he left. He said that he got pinned on the flight from Germany to Kuwait. I hope he gives us details on how that went. I hope everyone is doing well and I will keep this updated. I will be leaving tomorrow for Iowa. So I might not post anything for a couple days.
